The US Southeast Regional Consortium of the International Center for Academic Integrity (SEICAI) began as a conference initiative by Samford University, which held the first regional Southeast meeting on its campus in Homewood, Alabama in 2013. Kennesaw State University hosted the regional conferences from 2014-2016 in Kennesaw, Georgia.

In 2019, Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia relaunched the Southeast Regional Consortium after a brief pause in the consortium’s activity. Since 2019, SEICAI has hosted virtual conferences annually in October bringing together its members to discuss promoting academic integrity and combating academic misconduct.

The 2024 SEICAI Virtual Conference was held November 1, 2024.

We welcome participants individuals from institutions within the Southeastern United States, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Bordering states are also encouraged to participate in this consortium.

The goals of SEICAI are:

  • to establish a regional steering committee to foster the growth and continuation of the consortium;
  • to host an annual regional conference to promote networking, to share information, and to conduct a regular business meeting;
  • to build a regional network of students, faculty, staff, and administrators committed to the cause of academic integrity; and
  • to offer training opportunities for students serving on academic integrity boards and honor councils.
