Registration will open for the 2027 ICAI Annual Conference in fall 2026! This year’s theme, Integrity: Our Shared Culture, invites us to come together—sharing ideas, building strategies, and advancing a culture of integrity in education.


 

Pre-Conference Workshops Call For Proposals

We're seeking dynamic, workshop-style sessions to kick off the 2027 ICAI Annual Conference, themed " Integrity: Our Shared Culture." This is your chance to set the tone and pave the way for meaningful dialogue before the main conference begins!

Important Dates:

  • Open for Submissions: July 6, 2026
  • Submission Deadline: July 24, 2026

Before You Submit:

  • All sessions must be workshop-style — clearly describe how your session will actively engage participants.
  • Workshops are 2 hours and 30 minutes long.
  • Live, in-person presentations only – no virtual or hybrid sessions.
  • Sessions can be submitted in English or Spanish.
  • Each presenter may be listed on only one proposal.
  • Proposals may include a maximum of 2 presenters.

Call For Proposals

Call for proposals for the 2027 International Center for Academic Integrity conference will open August 3, 2026.

There will be no live-streamed, virtual, or remote presentations. Presenters submitting proposals must be prepared to deliver this content in-person at the conference in Monterrey. 

 Theme areas: Conference proposals are welcomed on any topic related to academic integrity. Presentations must be submitted under one of the following theme areas: 

    • Current Research (i.e., published work, ongoing research, manuscript presentations, assessment projects, sharing research findings, discussing current research trends and areas for further research, theoretical frameworks in academic integrity) 
    • Student, Institutional, Practitioner experiences (i.e., academic integrity programming, student involvement, student-led academic integrity initiatives, innovative ways instructors have engaged students with academic integrity, results to implemented policies, campus collaborations, etc.) 
    • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (i.e., in what ways are you or your institution incorporating DEI principles into your academic integrity policies or programming)
    • Policy Issues (i.e., adjudication issues, how to create a robust academic integrity policy, renewing your academic integrity policy, etc.) 
    • Artificial Intelligence (All things AI - innovations, research, policy development, practical applications, etc.) 

 Presentations will be 40 minutes (with approximately 30-35 minutes for the presentation and 5-10 minutes for questions). Presentations may be led by no more than 2 people. Presentations consisting of undergraduate students may consist of 3 people. We encourage project acknowledgements for contributors that are not presenting or in cases where more than 2 people were involved.

Panel submissions will be accepted, with no more than 5 panelists per session. A clear description of topics that will be discussed should be listed.

 Note: In order to create opportunities for as many people as possible, no more than 2 submissions should bear your name. If your name is submitted for multiple program proposals; you will only be allowed to be lead on one program. The Conference Program Committee will communicate with you if they accept multiple programs in which you are lead author so you can determine which to accept. 

 Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria: 

  • Relevance and Broad Appeal 
  • Alignment with Conference Theme(s) 
  • Stated Learning Outcomes
  • Novelty, Innovation and Creativity 
  • Organization and Format 

 

Awards

Each year, the International Center for Academic Integrity sends out a call to its membership to nominate institutions and individuals for our different awards. In the past, recipients of ICAI's awards are recognized at the annual conference.

 


2027 ICAI Awards Nomination Process

Help recognize the good work of your colleagues and students in academic integrity by nominating them for an ICAI award.  Below you can review the criteria for each award. Recipients will be announced at the 2027 Annual Conference in Monterrey, Mexico.

  • Campus of Integrity Award
  • Student of Merit Award
  • Exemplar of Integrity Award
  • Practitioner or Administrator of the Year
  • Donald McCabe Research of the Year
  • Tricia Bertram Gallant Award for Outstanding Lifetime Service

Campus of Integrity Award

The ICAI Campus of Integrity Award recognizes one campus or institution for its outstanding ability to create a culture of integrity during the previous academic year.  

All ICAI members are invited to nominate an institution they feel is deserving of the Campus of Integrity Award. Award winners must be ICAI members (individual or part of an institutional membership).

Criteria for nomination:

The Campus of Integrity award is intended for institutions that have had success with a program or initiative to create or mold a culture of integrity among the constituents of their own institution.  

Nomination Requirements:

  • Nomination Letter - must include a detailed description of the campus/institution, as well as how the culture of integrity has been created. If there was a specific initiative or program highlighted, we welcome pictures to help describe that program.
  • 2-3 letters of support recommended

 


Student of Merit Award

The ICAI Student of Merit Award is given to a current student (either pre-college, undergraduate, or graduate student) who has demonstrated passion and motivation towards creating a culture of academic integrity.

All ICAI members are invited to nominate a student they feel is deserving of the Student of Merit Award.

Nomination Requirements:

  • Nomination Letter - must include a detailed description of what this student has done to demonstrate passion and motivation towards creating a culture of academic integrity.
  • 1-2 letters of support recommended
  • No self-nominations will be accepted

 


Exemplar of Integrity Award

The Exemplar of Integrity Award recognizes one individual for demonstrating courage and perseverance in championing the ideals of academic integrity in the face of opposition and adversity.  

All ICAI members are invited to nominate an individual they feel is deserving of the Waldvogel Exemplar of Integrity Award. Award winners must be ICAI members (individual or part of an institutional membership).

Criteria for nomination:

The Exemplar of Integrity Award is intended for an individual who has demonstrated the sixth fundamental value - courage - to champion the ideals of academic integrity in building a culture of integrity.

Nomination Requirements:

  • Nomination Letter - must include a detailed description of how this individual exhibited courage towards academic integrity in the face of adversity or opposition.
  • 1-2 letters of support recommended

 


Practitioner or Administrator of the Year

The Practitioner or Administrator of the Year Award recognizes and honors academic and practitioner members of ICAI who have provided outstanding service to their institution or to the community regarding academic integrity during the past academic year or more. 

All ICAI members are invited to nominate individuals they feel are deserving of the Practitioner or Administrator of the Year Award. Award winners must be ICAI members (individual or part of an institutional membership).

Nomination Requirements:

  • Nomination Letter - must include a detailed description of the nominee’s contributions to academic integrity.
  • 1-2 letters of support recommended

No self-nominations will be accepted.

 


Donald McCabe Research of the Year

The McCabe Research of the Year Award is named for Donald McCabe, founding member of ICAI and leader in academic integrity research.  This award recognizes and honors an outstanding recent research project (including but not limited to dissertation research, grant research, or other scholarly work) regarding academic integrity during the past academic year or more. 

All ICAI members are invited to nominate a project they feel is deserving of the McCabe Research of the Year Award. Award winners must be ICAI members (individual or part of an institutional membership).

Nomination Requirements:

  • Nomination Letter - must include a detailed description of the nominee’s contributions to academic integrity
  • Completed Research manuscript in pdf format

Self-nominations will be accepted.

 


Tricia Bertram Gallant Award for Outstanding Lifetime Service

The Tricia Bertram Gallant Award for Outstanding Lifetime Service is named for Dr. Bertram Gallant, who has consistently gone above and beyond while working toward a culture of integrity across the globe.  This award recognizes and honors academic and practitioner members of ICAI who have provided outstanding service to ICAI regarding academic integrity over their lifetimes. Award recipients represent the most influential individuals in ICAI’s efforts in academic integrity. It is the highest honor to be given by ICAI.

All ICAI members are invited to nominate individuals they feel are deserving of the Tricia Bertram Gallant Award for Outstanding Lifetime Service. Award winners must be ICAI members (individual or part of an institutional membership).

Criteria for nomination:

The Tricia Bertram Gallant Award for Outstanding Lifetime Service is intended for individuals with at least 10 years of documented accomplishments in service to ICAI and who have had a significant impact on ICAI during that time. Those with a significant impact in a shorter time period may also be considered.

The impact may be demonstrated in one or more of the following ways:

  • Programs & Projects: The individual designed or implemented one or more high-impact programs or projects in support of ICAI’s mission. 
  • Presentations & Publications: The individual has made meaningful contributions to the body of knowledge on academic integrity through conference presentations, articles, books, etc. on behalf of ICAI.
  • Collegiality & Mentorship: The individual has contributed substantial time and expertise to mentor and lead others within ICAI. The award winner has helped make service to ICAI a positive experience for all.
  • Organizational Development: The individual has made an impact on the structure and/or functioning of ICAI. Examples can include governance, financial processes, policies, and contributions to the growth of ICAI membership.
  • Outreach: The award recognizes efforts as an ambassador of ICAI and academic integrity to a wide audience.

Nomination Requirements:

  • Nomination Letter – must include a detailed description of the nominee’s contributions to ICAI as they relate to the above criteria.
  • 2-4 letters of support required
  • Nominee’s CV or resume, if it is publicly available
  • A history of upholding the fundamental values of academic integrity

No self-nominations will be accepted.
