Board of Directors

The International Center for Academic Integrity’s (ICAI) Board of Directors provides governance and strategic oversight for the organization. Board members guide ICAI’s mission to promote academic integrity worldwide, contribute to content development within designated standing committees, oversee policies and finances, and support long-term planning to advance research and education about academic integrity. Board members also serve as ambassadors for ICAI within their respective institutional, regional, and national communities. ICAI aims to select a board that is representative of ICAI’s membership, honoring its commitment to the global academic integrity community. Each board member, who is appointed for a 2-year term, commits 3-5 hours per week of volunteer service to the organization.

Blaire Wilson - President

Emory University Senior Associate Director, Honor Council

Blaire Wilson is the senior associate director of the Honor Council and Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Emory College of Arts & Sciences at Emory University. Wilson has worked in higher education since 2014 with a concentration in university disciplinary processes. While overseeing the honor code process in the Emory College of Arts & Sciences, she also teaches a practicum course every fall and spring semester. The practicum course serves as the primary training mechanism for students serving on the honor council.
Wilson has developed educational training programs for students, drafted academic integrity policies, and produced resources for faculty. Wilson also manages the assessment, data collection, and data reporting for the program.

Dr. Greer Murphy - Vice President for Strategy

UC Santa Cruz Director, Academic Integrity Office

Greer Murphy, Ed.D., is Director of the Academic Integrity Office at the University of California, Santa Cruz. A passionate advocate for feminist/ethnographic/applied approaches to scientific inquiry, Murphy’s research includes academic integrity and faculty development; multilingual writers and writing program administration; and policy process as it supports institutional development and change. Her work has appeared in special issues of the Journal of College & Character and Workplace, as well as several edited collections.
She holds degrees in education, applied linguistics, and political science. Outside the university setting, you are likeliest to find her hiking and/or practicing some form of martial arts.

Dr. Jason Stephens - Vice President for Research

The University of Auckland Professor of Educational Psychology

Jason M. Stephens is a Professor of Educational Psychology in the Faculty of Arts and Education at the University of Auckland. In addition to teaching courses on human development and learning at the university, Jason serves as an Academic Integrity Advisor for his faculty.
His primary research interests include human motivation, ethical functioning, cheating behavior, and the promotion of academic integrity. He is a co-author of two books (Educating Citizens and Creating a Culture of Academic Integrity) as well as numerous journal articles and other publications related to these interests. Jason earned his BA at the University of Vermont, M.Ed. at Vanderbilt University, and Ph.D. at Stanford University.

Dr. Mary Davis - Vice President of Communications and Board Secretary

Oxford Brookes University Academic Integrity Lead and Professor

Professor Mary Davis is Academic Integrity Lead and Professor (Student Experience) at Oxford Brookes University, UK. In this role, she advises all faculty, staff and students on academic integrity matters. Since 2005, she has dedicated her research and practice to academic integrity; recently she was awarded a National Teaching Fellowship for her impact on inclusive academic integrity, including the ethical use of AI tools. She co-authored the study skills book 'Referencing and Understanding Plagiarism' and has written many book chapters and articles on academic integrity. Within her ICAI Board role, she is co-chair of the International Day of Action for Academic Integrity, editor of the #IntegrityMatters blog and webinar organizer. She is a member of the QAA UK Advisory Group on Academic Integrity and Associate Editor for the International Journal for Educational Integrity.

Christian Moriarty J.D. - Treasurer

College of Policy, Ethics, & Legal Studies at St. Petersburg College Professor of Ethics and Law and Academic Chair of the Applie

Christian Moriarty is a Professor of Ethics and Law and Academic Chair of the Applied Ethics Institute with the College of Policy, Ethics, & Legal Studies at St. Petersburg College. Professor Moriarty received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Interdisciplinary Sciences at the University of South Florida, his Master’s degree in Bioethics from USF, his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law, and is a licensed attorney with the Florida Bar.
He teaches Applied Ethics, Medical Ethics, Business Ethics, Legal Ethics, Business Law, and Art Law. He researches and presents on such subjects as academic plagiarism, using humor and empathy in the classroom, and higher education law and ethics. Professor Moriarty also serves on the Executive Board of the International Center for Academic Integrity.

Dr. Kelly Ahuna - Board Member

University at Buffalo Director, Office of Academic Integrity

Kelly Ahuna is the Director of the Office of Academic Integrity at the University at Buffalo (UB). Faculty for 20 years, Kelly first ran an undergraduate critical thinking program and later worked with graduate teacher candidates on curriculum and instruction. Her overarching interest in student and teacher success led her to the growing field of academic integrity work and her current role as the inaugural director at UB where she has developed policy and procedures, established a robust remediation process, and co-founded the ICAI Northeast Regional Consortium. Kelly holds a bachelor’s degree in English with secondary teacher certification from Dickinson College, a master’s degree in higher education administration from the University of Vermont, and a doctoral degree in sociology of education from UB.

Dr. Joseph Brown - Board Member

Colorado State University Director of the Academic Integrity Program

Joseph F. Brown serves as the Director of the Academic Integrity Program at Colorado State University. He holds a PhD in English from Louisiana State University and previously served as Associate Professor of English at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. His research interests include academic integrity, artificial intelligence, Southern literature, and science fiction. His work has appeared in the Journal of Popular Culture, Extrapolation, and the Flannery O’Connor Review among others. He lives in Fort Collins, Colorado with his wife and their children.

Dr. Chris Bryson - Board Member

University of Arkansas Executive Director of Academic Initiatives and Integrity

Chris Bryson serves as the Executive Director of Academic Initiatives and Integrity at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville (UARK). This office is responsible for building and maintaining a campus culture that values academic integrity and overseeing the adjudication of allegations of misconduct in a campus-wide system. Chris has worked in higher education for over 15 years in academic integrity and student conduct-related roles at Colorado State University (CSU) and UARK. Chris holds a BS (2005) in Exercise Physiology from California State University, Chico, an MS (2008) in Higher Education Administration from CSU, and a PhD in Public Policy from UARK.

Stephen Bunbury - Board Member

University of Westminster Associate Professor (Reader) in Law

Stephen Bunbury is the strategic lead for Academic Integrity and Reader (Associate Professor) in Law for the University of Westminster Law School. He has been the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Westminster Law School.
He is also the academic integrity advisor and lead academic at the University where he provides advice, support and guidance for staff on academic integrity matters. He is chair for academic misconduct panels across the University and is a founding member of London South East Academic Integrity Network (LSEAIN). He is the founder and Chair of the International Day of Action Working Group for the LSEAIN. Stephen has extensive experience dealing with quality assurance and academic integrity matters.
Stephen brings to the ICAI Board wide-ranging experience of strategic leadership roles within higher education. He publishes regularly in the areas of disability discrimination, equality law and higher education. He is widely cited as an expert in disability discrimination, higher education and leads on internal and external funded collaborative projects in higher education and inclusion. Stephen also serves as a Non-Executive Director for Inclusion London.
Stephen was Called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn in 2024. He combines academic expertise with a strong foundation in legal advocacy and professional training.

Dr. Courtney Cullen - Board Member

North Carolina State University Director of Assessment, Institutional Effectiveness

Courtney S. Cullen is the Director of Assessment at North Carolina State University, where she oversees the assessment of administrative units. She holds Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Georgia and wrote her dissertation on the effectiveness of academic integrity remediation programming. Courtney has held significant roles at both the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech prior to moving to North Carolina State University. Courtney is also a published author and active presenter, with a research focus on the intersections between academic integrity, policy, and assessment.

Dr. Luz Herlinda Godina Silva - Board Member

Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM) Director of the Center for Integrity

Luz Godina is the Director of the Center for Integrity at the Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM) in Mexico. She holds an EdD in Instructional Technology and Distance Learning from Nova Southeastern University, as well as a master’s degree and professional studies in Information Technologies from the Tecnológico de Monterrey.
Her areas of expertise include ethics and integrity, educational innovation and technology, technopedagogy, high-performance academic teams development, and early childhood development. She has extensive experience in professional development and educational innovation projects from academic, managerial, consulting, and research perspectives, participating in initiatives with national and international reach.
In the field of integrity, she has collaborated with the International Center for Academic Integrity (ICAI), the European Network for Academic Integrity (ENAI), the Latin American Network for Academic Integrity, and with universities and organizations committed to fostering a culture of integrity.

Rachel Gorjup - Board Member

University of Toronto Mississauga Academic Appeals & Integrity Coordinator

Rachel Gorjup is the Academic Appeals & Integrity Coordinator at the University of Toronto Mississauga. She has worked in the field of academic integrity since 2020. In her role, Rachel oversees the resolution of academic integrity cases, manages academic appeals, and leads the development and implementation of educational initiatives that promote academic integrity across the UTM community. She is actively involved in the broader academic integrity community, serving on the executive boards of the Academic Integrity Council of Ontario (AICO) and ICAI Canada. Rachel also co-chairs the International Day of Action for Academic Integrity (IDoA).

Dr. Jennie Miron - Board Member

Humber Polytechnic Faculty Lead for Academic Integrity

Dr. Jennie Miron is a full-time nursing professor at Humber Polytechnic and serves as the Faculty Lead for Academic Integrity within the Faculty of Health Sciences & Wellness in Toronto, Canada. With over 40 years of nursing experience spanning diverse acute care settings—both pediatric and adult—as well as academic environments, Dr. Miron brings a wealth of expertise to her roles in education and professional practice.
In 2016, she successfully defended her doctoral dissertation, Academic Integrity and Senior Nursing Undergraduate Clinical Practice, further solidifying her research focus on academic integrity. Dr. Miron has dedicated her career to advancing academic integrity across Ontario’s post-secondary education sector. Her contributions include teaching, research, and leadership in key roles such as Chair of the Academic Integrity Council of Ontario (AICO). Currently, she serves as President of the International Center for Academic Integrity (ICAI) Canada and is a Board Member of ICAI.
Dr. Miron’s scholarly work includes numerous presentations, research studies, and publications on academic integrity, and she serves on the editorial board of the Canadian Perspectives on Academic Integrity journal. She is deeply committed to fostering integrity within learning communities and strongly advocates for acculturating students to the foundational values of honesty, trust, fairness, respect, responsibility, and courage.

Dr. Gonzalo Pizarro - Board Member

Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile Director Académico de Docencia, VRA

Dr. Gonzalo Pizarro is a civil engineer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC) where he is a full-time professor in the Department of Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering. He also serves as the university’s Dean of Undergraduate Studies at the Academic Vice-Chancellorship. He holds a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Dr. Pizarro specializes in the biological treatment of wastewater and the mathematical modelling of biofilms and biocorrosion. He has published articles in international scientific journals and has also participated as a project manager or consulting engineer in engineering projects in Chile for public and private companies. Among his projects, he has also promoted the Honor Code at UC and the installation of an academic integrity policy.
