Board of Directors

The International Center for Academic Integrity’s (ICAI) Board of Directors provides governance and strategic oversight for the organization. Board members guide ICAI’s mission to promote academic integrity worldwide, contribute to content development within designated standing committees, oversee policies and finances, and support long-term planning to advance research and education about academic integrity. Board members also serve as ambassadors for ICAI within their respective institutional, regional, and national communities. ICAI aims to select a board that is representative of ICAI’s membership, honoring its commitment to the global academic integrity community. Each board member, who is appointed for a 2-year term, commits 3-5 hours per week of volunteer service to the organization.

Generative AI as a Modern Socrates: Why Integrity Begins With Better Questions

What if the greatest gift of generative AI is not that it can answer our questions but that it exposes how poor many of our questions have become? Much discussion of generative AI centres on efficiency. Faster outputs. Quicker decisions. Apparent expertise on demand. Within an Integrity Matters context, this framing is incomplete and at times misleading. Integrity is not about speed or volume. It is about responsibility, judgement, fairness and care. When we rush to answers we often bypass those values. Generative AI brings this problem into sharp focus by responding fluently even when our questions are poorly framed, ethically shallow, or conceptually weak.

Can the professor be the academic integrity problem?

Many times, when we think about academic integrity, we think about students doing some cheating in some way, be that using notes when they are not supposed to or falsifying attendance. But what if the professor and their policies have created an academic integrity concern?

Nurturing High School Students’ Academic Integrity in an International School

As a high school librarian working in an international boarding school, I have many opportunities to talk spontaneously with students: in class, after school and during evening study halls. EF Academy has developed a research skills course for English language learners at the A1-A2 level, part of our Academic English Accelerator Program (AEAP).
