Campus of Integrity Award

The ICAI Campus of Integrity Award recognizes one campus or institution for their outstanding ability to create a culture of integrity during the previous academic year.  

All ICAI members are invited to nominate an institution they feel is deserving of the Campus of Integrity Award. Award winners must be ICAI members (individual or part of an institutional membership).

Criteria for nomination:

The Campus of Integrity award is intended for institutions who have had success with a program or initiative to create or mold a culture of integrity among the constituents of their own institution.  

Nomination Requirements

  • Nomination Letter - must include a detailed description of the campus/institution as well as how the culture of integrity has been created. If there was a specific initiative or program highlighted, we welcome pictures to help describe that program.
  • 2-4 letters of support required

Student of Merit Award

The ICAI Student of Merit Award is given to a current student (either pre-college, undergraduate, or graduate student) who has demonstrated passion and motivation towards creating a culture of academic integrity.

All ICAI members are invited to nominate a student they feel is deserving of the Student of Merit Award.

Nomination Requirements

  • Nomination Letter - must include a detailed description of what this student has done to demonstrate passion and motivation towards creating a culture of academic integrity.
  • 2-4 letters of support required
  • No self nominations will be accepted

Exemplar of Integrity Award

The Exemplar of Integrity Award recognizes one individual for demonstrating courage and perseverance in championing the ideals of academic integrity in the face of opposition and adversity.  

All ICAI members are invited to nominate an individual they feel is deserving of the Waldvogel Exemplar of Integrity Award. Award winners must be ICAI members (individual or part of an institutional membership).

Criteria for nomination:

The Exemplar of Integrity Award is intended for an individual who has demonstrated the sixth fundamental value - courage - to champion the ideals of academic integrity in building a culture of integrity.

Nomination Requirements

  • Nomination Letter - must include a detailed description of how this individual exhibited courage towards academic integrity in the face of adversity or opposition.
  • 2-4 letters of support required

Tricia Bertram Gallant Award for Outstanding Lifetime Service

The Tricia Bertram Gallant Award for Outstanding Lifetime Service is named for Dr. Bertram Gallant who has consistently gone above and beyond while working toward a culture of integrity across the globe.  This award recognizes and honors academic and practitioner members of ICAI who have provided outstanding service to their institution or to the community regarding academic integrity over their lifetimes. Award recipients represent the most influential individuals in academic integrity. It is the highest honor to be given by ICAI.

All ICAI members are invited to nominate individuals they feel are deserving of the Tricia Bertram Gallant Award for Outstanding Lifetime Service Award. Award winners must be ICAI members (individual or part of an institutional membership).

Criteria for nomination:

The Tricia Bertram Gallant Award for Outstanding Lifetime Service Award is intended for individuals with at least 10 years of documented accomplishments in academic integrity and who have had a significant impact on a large number of individuals and organizations.

The impact may be demonstrated in one or more of the following ways:

  • Programs & Projects: The individual designed or implemented one or more high-impact programs or projects that have been widely replicated.  
  • Presentations & Publications: The individual has made meaningful contributions to the body of knowledge on academic integrity through conference presentations, articles, books, etc.
  • Service & Mentorship: The individual has contributed substantial time and expertise to help build a culture of academic integrity (e.g., by leading campus groups or networks, serving on relevant boards or committees, and/or mentoring others).

Nomination Requirements

  • Nomination Letter - must include a detailed description of the nominee’s contributions to academic integrity.
  • 2-4 letters of support required
  • Nominee’s CV or resume

Practitioner or Administrator of the Year

The Practitioner or Administrator of the Year Award recognizes and honors academic and practitioner members of ICAI who have provided outstanding service to their institution or to the community regarding academic integrity during the past academic year or more. 

All ICAI members are invited to nominate individuals they feel are deserving of the Practitioner or Administrator of the Year Award. Award winners must be ICAI members (individual or part of an institutional membership).

Nomination Requirements

  • Nomination Letter - must include a detailed description of the nominee’s contributions to academic integrity.
  • 2-4 letters of support required

Donald McCabe Research of the Year 

The McCabe Research of the Year Award is named for Donald McCabe, founding member of ICAI and leader in academic integrity research.  This award recognizes and honors outstanding recent research project (including but not limited to dissertation research, grant research, or other scholarly work) regarding academic integrity during the past academic year or more. 

All ICAI members are invited to nominate a project they feel are deserving of the McCabe Research of the Year Award. Award winners must be ICAI members (individual or part of an institutional membership).

Nomination Requirements

  • Nomination Letter - must include a detailed description of the nominee’s contributions to academic integrity
  • Completed Research manuscript in pdf format
